When they are used to treat inflamed, irritated, or distorted tissues or in implant therapy, tissue conditioners are required to function over relatively long time periods. Purpose: This in vitro study evaluated the effect of sealer and water storage on permanent deformation one tissue conditioner. Material and methods: Sixty cylindrically-shaped specimens (12.7-mm diameter 3 19.0-mm height) were used for the deformation tests. Specimens were divided into 6 test groups (n=10), according to surface treatment (sealer application) and water storage (1 hour, 1 week and 2 weeks). Permanent deformation, expressed as a percent (%), was determined using ADA specification no. 18. Data were examined a analysis of variance and a Mann-Whitney test (a= 0.05). Results: Significant differences were observed only after 1 week of water storage, for both groups. The surface treated group presented the highest permanent deformation percentage. Conclusions: This in vitro study indicated that the tissue conditioner evaluated is only useful for 1 week. After this period, the material must be replaced.

OBJECTIVE: To know the different perspectives of experiences of the cuidadores in relation to the well-taken care of inductive stimulation. MATERIAL And METHOD: One is about a work with quantitative boarding. The citizens had been twenty cuidadores registered in cadastre in the Program of Mental Health of the city of Aiquara/BA. The instrument of collection of data was based on the free technique of association of words, interpreted by means of the Analysis of Factorial Correspondence, with the use of Software Tri-Deux Mot, version 2.2. RESULT: It in such a way allowed the graphical visualization of the fixed 0 variable (age, degree of kindred and profession), as well as the categories enunciated by the citizens front to the well-taken care of inductive stimulation. CONCLUSION: We verify that the representations of the meaning of Care for the cuidadores had been: patience; to feed; to follow; to watch; remedy; love; affection; to inform; to arrange and to watch over.

Currently has been accepted that the immunity or susceptibility to infect-parasitic diseases are directly related with the nutritional status of the host. However, the mechanisms that govern the relationship between the protein-energy malnutrition and the course of the visceral leishmaniasis are multiple and little explained. This study aims to present the current aspects most important and on the synergism between these two illnesses. They were identified and analyzed 77 works published between 1960 and 2007, being used as main sources the LILACS-BIREME and MEDLINE databases. Considering the reality of the city of Vitoria da Conquista, with regard to the handling and final provisions of solid waste, health, it becomes imperative to raise so reflective, environmental impact and harm to health caused by them. This aims to describe research on the environmental impacts generated by Solid Wastes of Health (RSS) and its implicativos in the health-disease; reflect on the ethical point of view focusing on professional negligence on the part of these, identifying the responsibilities of each involved in context; propose suggestions for improvements to creation of specific areas and handling appropriate to their final destination, to promote a balance of the environment and a healthy life. Through bibliographic methods, descriptive and exploratory with empirical basis, it was emphasized the conduct of that employed the landfill council, whose information based on photographic images of the site, showing thus the breach of the rules of the National Environmental Council ( CONAMA), the resolution 5 / 93 establishing standards of environmental quality in ralação to RSS1.
