The application of a fly-by-wire control system is of great significance for enhancing the flight quality of a propeller aircraft. The dynamic characteristics of the fly-by-wire co-rotating propeller aircraft were investigated, and the longitudinal, lateral and coupling characteristics different from those of conventional turbofan aircraft were analyzed in some detail. The performances of throttle, acceleration and deceleration, speed instability and manipulation coupling response in the flight process were discussed in depth. The modal characteristics and parameter value range of the fly-by-wire co-rotating propeller aircraft were extracted. Then a stability enhancement design strategy for the propeller aircraft was proposed to address the influence of propellers and slipstream. Finally, the rudder automatic trim and single-engine failure automatic compensation functions for the propeller aircraft were analyzed. The study results indicate that, due to the influence of direct force and moment on propellers and slipstream, the fly-by-wire co-rotating propeller aircraft has different flight dynamic characteristics from those of the conventional fly-by-wire aircraft. Extra stability and trim functions should be added to its flight to reduce pilot load and improve flight quality.
