PREVENTIVE ACTIVITIES AIMED AT PREVENTING AND COMBATING CRIME WITH THE REFERENCE TO THE STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK OF REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

Abstract

Criminality is a very complex phenomenon and it represents a national problem in all countries. In the field of crime, the organized crime is particularly highlighted. The organized crime is a significant threat to security, either in a national or international scale. Crime prevention is focused on the prevention of the occurrence of some crime forms. Preventive activities involve a range of different political, economic and legal measures taken by the state at the national, regional and international levels. Preventive fight against crime is based on certain principles that together meet the basic criminal-political goal referring to a successful fight against crime. It should be carried out under the condition of a legal, humane, legitimate treatment, with a respect of human rights and freedoms. Considering the importance of preventive activities in the field of crime prevention, the subject of analysis in the paper concerns the current strategic framework in this area.
