Conservación de la salud y frutos de la medicina: la farmacopea de Descartes

Abstract

Descartes has a practical view of medicine whose ultimate end is the mainte-nance of health. For this purpose, the medicines ―found in the Remedia et vires medicamentorum and in the Excerpta anatomica― play a key role being that they are the instruments which allow the maintenance of health to be obtained. Therefore, this article poses to examine these remedies, elucidating its importance to the Cartesian medicine.
