REFERENDUMUL REPUBLICAN CONSULTATIV INIȚIAT DE CĂTRE PREȘEDINTELE REPUBLICII MOLDOVA

Abstract

This article is a detailed study of national consultative referendum to be held by the President of the Republic of Moldova. The referendum is the most important method of intervention of the sovereign people in power. This institution has been thoroughly researched by doctrine, attempting over time to highlight all positive and negative aspects in order to make it a true pillar of democracy. The Electoral Code of the Republic of Moldova provides four main types of national referendums: referendum on the revision of the Constitution, legislative referendum, referendum on the dismissal of the President and consultative referendum.
